Havenoro CP

Overview

Notifications in Havenoro CP are alerts that inform you about important events and potential issues on your account. Think of them like the warning lights on your car dashboard — they let you know when something needs attention before it becomes a real problem. By configuring notifications, you can receive email alerts about disk space usage, backup status, SSL certificate expiry, and other system events, helping you stay proactive about managing your hosting.

Types of Notifications

Havenoro CP can notify you about a variety of events. Here are the most common ones:

  • Disk Space Warnings — Alerts you when your disk usage reaches a certain percentage (e.g., 80%, 90%, 95%). This gives you time to clean up files or upgrade before you run out of space.
  • Bandwidth Thresholds — Notifies you when your monthly bandwidth usage is approaching your plan limit, helping you avoid overage charges or throttling.
  • Backup Completion — Lets you know when a scheduled or manual backup has finished successfully, or if it failed.
  • SSL Certificate Expiry — Warns you when your SSL certificate is about to expire (typically 30, 14, and 7 days before expiry). This prevents your site from showing security warnings to visitors.
  • Account Suspension / Reactivation — Alerts you if your account is suspended (e.g., for resource overuse) or reactivated.
  • Login Notifications — Some configurations can alert you when someone logs into your control panel, which helps with security monitoring.

How To Configure Notifications

Setting Your Notification Preferences

  1. Log in to Havenoro CP and navigate to your account settings or the Notifications section. This is often found under your username/avatar menu or in the sidebar.
  2. You will see a list of notification types with checkboxes or toggle switches.
  3. Check the boxes for the events you want to be notified about. At minimum, enable disk space warnings, backup failures, and SSL expiry alerts.
  4. Enter the email address where notifications should be sent. This can be any email address — it does not have to be on your domain.
  5. Click Save or Update Preferences.

You can change these settings at any time. If you find you are receiving too many emails, you can disable less important notifications or adjust the thresholds (e.g., get warned at 90% disk usage instead of 80%).

Where to Find Notification History

Havenoro CP also keeps a log of recent notifications within the control panel. Look for a Notification History or Recent Alerts section. This shows past notifications with timestamps, so you can review what happened even if you missed the email. The history is especially useful for troubleshooting — for example, checking when a backup last failed.

Why Notifications Matter

Notifications are your early warning system. Without them, you might not know your disk is nearly full until your website stops accepting uploads or email stops working. You might not realize your SSL certificate expired until visitors see a "Not Secure" warning in their browser. By configuring notifications, you shift from being reactive (fixing problems after they happen) to being proactive (preventing problems before they affect your users).

This is especially important for business websites. An expiring SSL certificate or a full disk can cause downtime, lost sales, and damage to your reputation. A simple email alert costs nothing to set up and can save you hours of troubleshooting.

We recommend checking your notification settings when you first set up your account and reviewing them periodically to make sure the email address is still correct and the alerts are still relevant.
