What Is the Control Panel?

The Havenoro Control Panel is a web-based dashboard that lets you manage every part of your hosting account. Instead of typing complex commands into a terminal, you can click buttons, fill in forms, and see everything visually.

Think of the control panel as the dashboard of a car. You do not need to know how the engine works to drive — the dashboard gives you a speedometer, a fuel gauge, and warning lights so you can operate the car safely. Similarly, the control panel gives you website management, email controls, DNS settings, and resource monitors all in one place. The server itself is the engine; the control panel is your dashboard.

What is a web server? A web server is a computer that stores your website's files (text, images, code) and delivers them to visitors when they type your domain into a browser. It runs 24/7 and handles requests from around the world.

Logging In

To access your control panel:

  1. Open your web browser and go to cp.havenoro.com.
  2. Enter the username and password that were sent to you when your account was created.
  3. Click the Log In button.

If this is your first time logging in, you will land on the dashboard — the main overview page that shows your active domains, resource usage (disk space, bandwidth), and quick links to common tasks. Take a moment to look around. The dashboard is your home base; from here you can reach every feature.

Lost your password? If you cannot remember your password, contact Havenoro support to have it reset. There is no "forgot password" link on the login page for security reasons.

Dashboard Overview

The dashboard is organized into several sections, each handling a specific part of your hosting environment. Here is what each section does:

Section Purpose
Web Manage web domains — add new websites, install applications (WordPress, Laravel, etc.), configure SSL certificates, and delete domains.
DNS Manage DNS zones and records — point your domain names to the correct IP addresses, set up email authentication, and enable DNSSEC.
Mail Create mail domains and email inboxes, configure spam filtering, set up forwarding, and manage SMTP relays for reliable delivery.
Databases Create and manage MySQL/MariaDB databases and users. Most dynamic websites (like WordPress) need a database to store content.
Cron Jobs Schedule automated tasks — run scripts, send emails, or perform maintenance at specific times.
Backups Create manual backups, schedule automatic ones, and restore your data if something goes wrong.
Users Create and manage user accounts, assign packages, and set permissions for each user.
Packages Define hosting packages with limits on disk space, bandwidth, number of domains, and other resources.
Statistics View resource usage charts — disk space, memory, bandwidth, and more — to keep an eye on your server's health.
Notifications View system notifications about updates, backups, and important events.

Understanding the Interface

The control panel interface has three main parts:

Top Bar

The top bar runs across the top of every page. It contains the Havenoro logo and branding, a search bar to quickly find documentation pages, and a theme toggle button to switch between light and dark mode. The search bar searches this documentation, not your server data.

Sidebar (Left Navigation)

The sidebar on the left is your main navigation menu. It is organized into groups: Introduction, User Guide, and Tutorials. Click a group header to expand or collapse it. Each item in the sidebar is a link to a documentation page or a feature section in the control panel. The currently active page is highlighted with a dark left border.

Main Content Area

The rest of the screen is the main content area. This is where the actual work happens — forms to add domains, tables listing your email accounts, charts showing resource usage, and so on. Each page has breadcrumbs at the top showing your current location, a table of contents for navigation within the page, and the main content in the middle.

Control Panel vs. The Server

It is important to understand the difference between the control panel and the server:

  • The control panel is a web application that runs on the server. It gives you a graphical interface to manage server features. You access it through a browser at cp.havenoro.com.
  • The server is the actual machine (a computer in a data center) that runs your websites, stores your files, processes email, and handles database queries. It runs the Linux operating system and all the software that powers your sites.

When you add a domain in the control panel, it tells the server to create a new folder, configure the web server, and set up DNS records. You do not need to touch the command line — the control panel handles it all. But if you ever need to do something the control panel does not offer (like install custom software or edit advanced configuration files), you can connect to the server directly via SSH (Secure Shell). The CLI reference page explains how.

Good to know Most tasks can be done entirely from the control panel. You may never need to use the command line. The CLI reference is there if you ever want to automate tasks or perform advanced operations.

Next Steps

Now that you are familiar with the dashboard, here are a few things you might want to do:

  • Add your first website — head to the Web Domains section to learn how to add a domain and put your site online.
  • Set up email — create a mail domain and set up inboxes so you can send and receive email using your own domain name.
  • Configure DNS — make sure your domain's DNS records are correct so your website and email work properly.
  • Read the Best Practices — check the Best Practices page for security tips and recommendations.
